In case you hadn't noticed its gotten significantly colder outside lately. mother nature has played her tricks and gave us a few spring like days but lets face it, its getting cold. However all is not lost guys! we have the holidays to look forward to and a winter wonderland but i need every guy to help me in "killing" the hoodie. There are a couple different winter looks that will keep you warm and looking great. Dont get me wrong I love a hoodie just as much as the next guy, but for daily use and those really cold days lets get a coat. There are the sport coat, the pea coat, the puffer and the trench coat. My personal favorite in killing the hoodie is hands down the trench coat. The trench coat falling to about knee length is a classic garment that adds character, shape and a semi sophisticated feel to the wardrobe. some are bound with a belt for extra protection but mostly a button down or zip. I would suggest a black for first timer wearers but the trench comes in three classic colors: camel or beige, navy blue, or black. I encourage you to try each style to see which style best fits your body type and liking.
Then there is the scarf that almost every man should have. There are different options for the mens scarf, i believe the deciding factor for the scarf should be the material. I suggest a nice wool or cotton blend plain scarf. simple and clean wit just one or two wraps around the neck. color is up to you but be sure to not have too long of a scarf. No matter what anyone says a really long scarf on a man is not okay agreed? I always go for the extra long scarves that all you do is throw it over your neck and wrap once. Dont forget the boots and the gloves and then your all set! Ofcourse boots and scarves are optional depending on the person, but the scarf and the coat are a must have and a great gift idea. Enjoy and stay warm.

Men's fashion will not be ignored
I came across an article today and it posed the question does the menswear industry matter? I was intrigued an thought I would ask you all the same. Without a doubt menswear plays a vital part in fashion but how vital do you believe it is to the everyday man. In 2010 12.2 percent of mensaid they were interested in the newest tends which now has raised to 14.8 percent. Personally I believe it is imperative for a man to be dressed nicely and can make a man be perceived in a better way. Stores shopped: Department stores and specialty stores are the two dominant men’s wear retailers. These store selections should come as no surprise considering many men’s garments require alterations. Department stores have long cornered the market for the men’s wear industry sales. With 43.8% of the consumers patronizing department stores, companies such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus keep the men’s alteration department in full swing. Yet the increased patronage of men’s specialty stores should not be ignored. Between 2010 and 2011, consumer patronage of specialty stores jumped from 17% to 19.8%. This trend may be based on a desire for a more personalized shopping environment, more specialized customer service, or more focused brands.
I can understand the rising percentage of men patronizing specialty stores. Some men shopping in department stores look (a) terrified, (b) dazed or (c) hopeless, understanding that they are trapped for the next four hours. Perhaps a specialty store environment provides the male shopper with an escape clause; he has the feeling that he can shop for the necessary clothing and leave the building within 30 minutes.
Clothing purchased: The casualization of the consumer’s lifestyle over the past few decades is apparent in activities, clothing selections, and clothing worn to various events. Results of this survey reveal the consumer’s apparel purchases will focus on more on their casual lifestyle. Whereas 7% of the sample purchased more dress clothing in 2010, only 6.3% planned to make the same purchases in 2011. In 2010 4.2% bought more casual clothing; this percent rose to 7.9% in 2011.
This finding came as no surprise. This is not the era of F. Scott Fitzgerald where navy blazers and white pants were worn as casual apparel. Instead, Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts, Ralph Lauren polo shirts and khaki trousers fit nicely on the golf course, by the pool, or grilling burgers at a friend’s house.
Price: The consumers’ surveyed reported a household income of $100,000 or more. Despite this healthy income, they typically purchased clothing on sale (59.2% in 2011). This was no surprise given the current economic climate. Immediate needs such as food, clothing for the children, gas and household products are given first priority over paying full price for clothing.

Uggs for men
Ok so I know we all know what Uggs are if I'm not mistaken. They are fur lined one of a kind boots from Australia and were only for women at one point. Shortly after the companys popularity rose they released a men's line of boots. Last year alot of guys were not receptive to the line and since then, Ugg has re vamped the boots. This year I hear that the company more than anything, is targeting the male clientele. What are your thoughts on this guys? Would you wear Uggs? Have you seen the new collection for men? Let me know

Winter 2011
So what’s in store for the seasons for men and women? Seventies fashion remains high on the list of carry-over trends, taking with it the likes of flares and wide-leg pants; while on the tough side, biker and punk follow through to the new season.Relaxed tailoring
For so long it’s been all about slim and skinny cuts for men. When fall 2011′s fashions roll along, that won’t be the case. Skinny won’t be out, but something else is certainly in.

GAP closings
So I have just been informed that GAP stores worldwide have reported very low sales and the company has not doe well this year at all. As a result there have been about 200 Gap stores closed and will be opening new stores in china in hopes of regaining business.
A new plus size line!
We all remember the Tom boyish and painfully funny role new actress Melissa McCarthy played in bridesmaids right? I know I do but it turns out that she couldn't be farther from her character on bridesmaids. Melissa McCarthy 41, has plans to launch a us size line soon. The mother of two co designed her Emmy gown actually studied fashion in college. She says in US weekly "it's hard when your fuller figured and want to look cool."
Beyonces baby bump style
The recently pregnant beyonce has looked radiant as usual and seems very happy as a mother to be. Although she is sporting a baby bump you will not catch this diva in maternity jeans. Her appearances have been dazzling and beautiful to say the least. On the red carpet at the MTV VMA's in august, where she debuted the news she wore an elegant red Lanvin gown flowing and floor length. Then in September in NYC, she wore a khaki sequence J.Crew dress, mid length and minimal makeup. Among some of her other styles have been a Roberto Cavalli mini blue sequence, a nude Vera Wang mini, and another beautiful full length white Lanvin gown.
Top designers & discount stores
Top designers an discount stores have recently created a very lucrative relationship. In the most recent news Missoni released a line for Target and shoppers not only cleared the shelves but crashed the website. It has become in such demand that even secondary networks like eBay are reselling the product pieces from these exclusive discount store lines at a 25% to 400% higher price range! products are brought at these prices because of the limited availability and time window. Social media and media in general have changed the retail game lately. Top designers have been creating bridge brands for a while now but since 2004, when H&M started the trend of carrying top designer fashions for a limited time and limited pieces the discount store relationship changed. Some stores you can find this type of deal on exclusive lines made for just these stores are Target, kmart, H&M, TJ maxx, and kohl's.

Kate moss closed the show in a beautiful white louis vutton dress for the louis vutton show in Paris this year and the carousel runway for Paris fashion week is extremely gorgeousThis season also permits fingerless gloves And I love it because they are another staple in my wardrobe right now until it gets too cold. Enjoy and be beautiful! I will post some pictures of these colors on the runway.

denim shorts( for men)
Okay so today was a beautiful day it was almost 80 degrees outside for a while. Many people busted out the summer clothes that everyone has been dying to wear, especially on my campus. It disturbed me to see how many guys had on denim shorts however which was just so hard to see haha. It is nor has it ever been okay for men to wear denim shorts. to top it off alot of guys were wearing the denim shorts that come down to an awkward length. You know were it kind of looks like ankle length jeans on women. I know this may seem like im going off on a tangent but i just dont understand how guys think this style works, or who made it ok. I blame the mass society because most people would say its okay to wear them for the comfort factor. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR THESE MEN!
thanks.

How to make your portfolio(see mine)xoxo
I want to share with everyone the proper way to make a portfolio. The first picture should be a close up face picture. something that shows your face and features clearly. your portfolio should have somewhat of a consistency or flow in some way. try creating a story with your photos. Then end with something that will wow the designers or whomever it concerns. something that will make them remember you.its better to have a few really good photos then alot of bad ones, never more than 8 tho.
