Anderson Cooper my hidden style Icon

Broadcast journalist Anderson cooper is a CNN news anchor and New York Times bestselling author and at 46 years of age is one of my idols. I love his work but what you might not know about him is he is and has always been impeccably stylish. Incredibly handsome and smart he has evolved over the years and can be seen most times in tailored suits,muscle tees and denim with his well groomed silver hair deeming his "silver fox" status in fashion. Anderson developed his sartorial sense decades before becoming the journalist we know ,photographed as a baby by Diane Arbus for Harper's Bazaar, even as a child he was well dressed and modeled with Ford Models for Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Macy's. He was ranked No. 3 on Playgirl magazine's Sexiest Newscasters List in 2004 and named as one of the Sexiest Men Alive in 2005 by People magazine and i recently found out he wrote a column for Details magazine. The versatile and essential denim look

 This is the trend that keeps giving and year after year has been reinvented to fit the season. Denim can be worn many different ways and the hardest choice could be whether to pull out the denim button downs, denim jackets rugged,clean, or boot cut denim pants or denim embroidered tee. Brands like Levi have been leading the pack in traditional denim and great fits for men but I encourage you to try other brands like diesel, true religion and armani exchange to name my favorites.

 Stars are always playing around with their favorite denim looks. Above we see a vogue cover one of my most cherished publications, with a male model sporting a classic levi denim shirt and style icon/athlete David Beckam with a fitted denim button up from topman. Below is a male model showing one of the newer trends double denim and my personal favorite layering. Men go out and add your favorite denim pieces, an essential to your wardrobe and make it your own!

A Touching connection: Jadon Hunts story

Pure Inspiration it seemed fell into my lap when I came across this young and up and coming models story.  When i say young I mean it and in Jadon Hunts case I mean 4 years young!

Many don"t know but as a child i also began modeling and i was scouted in 99' by the designer Tommy Hilfiger himself and in my early teens went on to do a spread for old navy but unfortunately I couldn't pursue it no matter how much I loved it because my parents wanted me to focus on school. However it all worked out and this is not about me but my strong connection to this intelligent humble and charming, young and new york native like me model Jadon Hunt.
 


At the young age of four Jadon has accomplished alot and can only go up from where he is now. This photogenic model was born in Brooklyn N.Y December 19th 08. He has done print work for toys R us, carters, pampers, baby gap etc. and recently landed the 2013 cover of Golden magazine. He is now the face for the foundation Faded Tears founded by Tasha Marbury of Vh1's basketball wives. This foundation is doing great work to bring awareness to abused children, you can see Jadon and Tasha together in the images to the left. Gq's Men of the year

Justin Timberlake graces the cover of GQ's 18th annual Men of the Year issue looking very dapper, well tailored and well "GQ". GQ magazine has been one of my favorite mens fashion magazines since I read my first issue but Timberlake joins Matthew McConaughey, Kendrick Lamar, Will Ferrell and the late James Gandolfini, who also are named Men of the Year. Each has a separate cover but the thing i noticed among all of them are more of a constant than in my mind: their fashion sense of course.

Lets focus on jt (Justin Timberlake) who has made the classic "suit and tie his trademark and who's style has been consistent and more than note worthy gentlemen. His suave clean cut look compliment his mannerism as an artist and lately he has mastered the trending 20's era style and haircut. This is not his first GQ cover  and he reminds me that you can look good whenever you want and gave me mental pointers on how to stay classy with and without the tie. check out some more of jt's looks that caught my eye, with and without the tie and dont forget to get your copy of GQ as soon as you can or follow them on instagram @GQ. 

Rhode Islands Next top model...

Recently I participated in a contest for Rhode islands next top model and guess who came out on top? Modelboymcmxc did! and won a photo shoot 2 page spread in the Rhode island monthly. Her name is Racquel coco Mills and she has given birth to her brand Viva La Coco straight out of college. This and much more create Viva la coco and the swagg dripping off this Urban inspired fashion line is ridiculous! Keepin it simple and pale this season

Although you think you may need to do some serious bundling up due to the cold weather but like they say less is more. in the words of Coco Chanel "before you leave your house take one thing off." The new trends in menswear call for a wardrobe of color, bright solids and accessories but go for the palest hue. Most department stores are already bulking up on pieces to fit these trend basics so get shopping and pair up some refreshing color and new patterns with your palest solids and even throw in some moccasins or dressy boat shoes which are a growing trend in menswear, to complete the look.

Don't forget to funk it up a little as well and make the look yours. just because your simplifying doesn't mean it has to be boring!

Now that most of our costumes are packed away its time to unpack your jackets. Temperatures are going down but fashion and new trends are at an all time high. I've often spoken about my love for the classic and one of my favorite time period's mannerisms have crossed into modern culture and fashion. Ofcourse I'm talking about the roaring twenties which was most known for its outrageous fashions during the prohibition era. But I digress 20's style, haircuts and spirit are back and paired with a classic peacoat or trench that fits just right can keep you warm and trendy. So don't be agraid of that extra layer dark colors can usually blend with other outfits perfectly so try that or the most common beige or khaki.
